Geneva is a communication app that allows users to create or join a home and set up chat, post, audio, video, and broadcast rooms for specific topics. The app is designed for organized, ongoing conversations with friends, family, school clubs, sports teams, movements, fraternities and sororities, creators and fans, coaches and students, professional networks, brand communities, interest groups, and more. Users can set up "homes" for their groups and create "rooms" inside them for different topics or sub-groups. Rooms can be open or secret, and everyone can adjust their notification settings for each one. The app offers five different kinds of rooms, including chat rooms, post rooms, audio rooms, video rooms, and broadcast rooms. Chat rooms are full-featured with @ mentions, threaded replies, emoji reactions, GIFs, attachments, polls, events, pins, typing indicators, and more. Post rooms are forum-style rooms that are more organized than chat rooms and great for announcements and longer-form discussion. Members of the group can upvote and comment, and everyone can sort posts by most recent, most upvotes, or most commented-on. Audio rooms allow users to talk instead of type and read, and video rooms allow up to 16 people to hang out at once. Broadcast rooms allow users to go live on video with up to 9 people on stage and thousands of viewers to call on-air. Geneva does not have any ads and does not sell user data. Instead, the app is building a bunch of exciting features that'll make it really easy for people on Geneva to transact with one another, and when that happens, the app will keep 5%. Because everyone signs up with a phone number, not an email address, blocks and bans are easier to enforce so there’s less room for trolling and abuse. The app also gives users the ability to set their home's rules and tools to help them enforce them. Geneva is designed for everyone and is great for all kinds of social groups.
