MyShake

The MyShake app is now issuing earthquake early warning alerts in California, Oregon, and Washington. Developed by the UC Berkeley Seismology Lab and sponsored by the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services, the app is the first to provide statewide earthquake early warning alerts in California. The app is one of the delivery modes of the California Earthquake Early Warning System. With the app, users can prepare, survive, and recover from large damaging quakes by setting a default alert location using HomeBase, setting up custom notifications to know when loved ones are affected by a quake, and getting safety tips. In addition to providing early warning alerts, the MyShake app also allows users to be citizen scientists and help measure earthquake motion. The app is available in English, Spanish (Español), Chinese Traditional (繁體中文), Filipino, Korean (한국인), and Vietnamese (Tiếng Việt). Users can also share their experience with others after a quake and help their community get earthquake ready. Overall, the MyShake app is a valuable tool for those living in earthquake-prone areas.
